Exodus: Arisen, Book 5, by Michael Stephen Fuchs, Glynn James

The Kennedy stares into the abyss

The world's last floating nuclear supercarrier looks into the face of oblivion as her thinned, exhausted, and beleaguered crew face the largest herd of dead ever recorded. Soon the ship's five-acre flight deck will become the scene of a furious and desperate set-piece battle - like no combat any modern army has seen since Stalingrad. The ranks of the dead are infinite, and those of the living are tiny, depleted, and running out of time...and of hope.

The abandoned run ahead of the storm

Surrounded, cut off, and left for dead, Wesley's band of sailors and survivors race ahead of the city-devouring swarm, desperate for a way off the land. Air strikes and shore bombardment threaten to vaporize them at any instant. The inlet onto which they flee is surrounded on all sides and filling up fast, and the least hesitation will get them all killed, infected, devoured - or all three at once.

The operators jump into mouth of hell

Having already dodged a hundred deaths by inches, the operators of Alpha team and MARSOC now fly into two converging storms of unspeakable violence and must parachute in and reinforce the Alamo - the hopeless and doomed defense of the carrier. A thousand things must go right for them to have a prayer of survival. But it's the job of the operators to succeed even when a million things go wrong....

Ride the human spirit to its utmost limit in the most terrifying and thrilling Arisen book yet: Arisen, book five - Exodus.

Such an irritating series
By Amazon Customer
I have mixed feelings about this series ... I start reading a book, then I am totally hooked and can't seem to put it down until I am done. The pacing, the non-stop action, the intensity, the characters that we actually care about, the impossible situations that will define the future of all mankind ... when I finish a book I am worn out. Wasted.

Then I grab the next book in the series and gobble it up the same way!

That worked when I had the first four books. But then I had to wait for the fifth book. I was SOOO excited to see EXODUS was out!! I swore, "This one I am going to slow down, enjoy it, read a little at a time, pace it out because I know Book 6 will be a while." Well, that didn't work! Two days late, I finished EXODUS. Awesome. ratcheted things up from the last book. Now, give me book 7! NOW!

Love this series. Love it.

Red Hot Zombie Action
By Kindle Customer
This series only gets better as it proceeds. One of the authors wrote in the forward how they would hit a snag and have to back off and regroup for 24 hours and I can see why. The action is almost nonstop and the tension, which has been building since Book One, threatens to explode right off the page as everything comes together. Unlike some of the more recent books, this one focuses primarily on the Kennedy crew preparing for the Zombie horde and the combined Alpha/Marine teams trying to complete their extraction. If you have not been reading the series, this is NOT the place to start as the story picks up immediately where Book 4 ended and proceeds full steam ahead.

Amidst all the mayhem, the authors offer us more sneak peeks into the heads of the main characters and I was amazed at what we learned about Predator. He is a one man wrecking crew and a physical monster, but inside his head lives a very different man. By this time, readers have enjoyed the opportunity to get to know the main characters and every time one of them is in peril your heart will give a little jump. Predator, Ali, Juice and the rest of the gang all get their chance to shine, as do Fick and his gang of Marines as they rush from one looming disaster to the next.

I don't want to give any spoilers but the fight for the Kennedy proves to be one of the biggest zombie battles I've ever read but still you have the feel of terror for the guys, and gals, on the front line. This book offers multiple opportunities to cheer and a nearly equal number of chances to hang your head in sadness, but the story is never boring. For me, this book is probably the best in the series, hands down. I can't wait for Book 6.

WOW!! It grabbed me and would not let go!!
By R.S.
This book was amazing!! It grabbed me and wouldn't let go. The additional character development/info was nice about some of the main characters. The JFK battle scene was relentless, with several "surprises" that you did not see coming (which was very nice). The ending was perfect and sets the stage nicely for the next part of the mission.... I won't tell you, you'll have to read the book!! I highly recommend this series if you like ZA books. Very well done and the characters are awesome. Very well done. Can't wait until the next one comes out.
