About the Author
My name is Ellen Cross, and I am proud to have been welcomed aboard the eXtasy team.
My first release, "Last Chances" was released on the 1st of October, and I have a Christmas release "Holly's Healing" due for release in December.

I am a mum of five kids, aged from five to sixteen. And now for the punch
line...they are all boys!
I live in a little beachside town in northern NSW, Australia, with my hubby of
fifteen years, my boys, and my slightly mentally unstable yet completely lovable dog, Jessie.
I worked as a computer data entry analyst until my first son was born at just
twenty-eight weeks gestation, and life hasn't been the same since! I love my music, and am completely addicted to my ereader.

I have a love of all genre's, particularly paranormal and sci-fi, and write
within each. I especially love the underdog...the characters who think they are
unworthy, or have been cast aside as being undeserving of love. They will not
only find a home within my books, but find their happily ever after as well.

I have several books in the works, and hope to share the news of their impending releases in time as well.

Two people find themselves completely devastated by circumstances and deceit. Then find each other and dreams come true. Could this ever really happen? Probably not. But, wouldn't it be wonderful if it could?

Original Premise, Fun Read

Jen is carrying twins as a surrogate mother for her sister, Annie, who couldn't conceive, but after Annie is killed in a car crash, Jen is left to cope with the loss of her beloved sister. I found Jen to be a very likeable character. I really empathized with her loss and especially in the midst of that having to deal with her sister's angry, blaming husband who wants no involvement in the soon-to-be-born twins' lives.

Garrick is a cancer survivor about to be cheated out of his father's company by a jealous brother. Garrick is very sensitive man, which is a breath of fresh air after the overused "bad boys" that I see too often in romance. Occasionally, Garrick's behavior does not fit what I would expect for "man"behavior (too much talking, mostly).

The two are brought together by well meaning friends who hope the two will help each other mend. I don't want to be spoiler of what happens in the rest of the story :) I found the premise unique, the author's writing style fresh, the story entertaining, and look forward to reading more books by Ellen Cross.

I read this in nearly one sitting, I couldn't put it down. This is a fantastic debut for Ellen, it was a truly beautiful love story. I added it to my favorites, because I will definitely read it again.

On an average day, Geronimo Stilton edits The Rodent's Gazette, the newspaper of New Mouse City, capital of Mouse Island. But at the coaxing of his sister, Thea, and various relatives, Stilton sates his yen for adventure-and adventure writing-by embarking on various excursions and recording and illustrating his exploits in a diary that serves as source material for his books. Stilton, Thea, cousin Trap and nephew Benjamin board a ship in search of buried treasure on a secret deserted island. The trip is filled with peril and plenty of humor, though the treasure isn't what anyone expected. The book's lightning pace and its numerous chapters, as well as a full-color design that displays key words in color type and fun fonts, will hook kids in a flash. And those with a taste for Stilton's breezy style will surely want to devour future "whisker-licking-good stories," as the author calls them. Fun and engaging early chapter books

My daughter first discovered Geronimo Stilton through her school's Scholastic Book Orders. It is sometimes difficult to find age appropriate books for my above average reader who just completed first grade. These books are funny and engaging. She goes through them pretty quickly, but there are many, many books in the series. We bought extra copies of numbers 1 and 2 to give as birthday gifts.

Very Engaging Books!

My 10-year-old son discovered the Geronimo Stilton books in his classroom. He has ADHD and he can't put these books down! I bought him a few for Christmas and he keeps asking for more. The text is written in a very unique way. Some of the words are in colors and different fonts and sizes. They appear to "pop out" at you, making it very engaging. There are also pictures scattered throughout the text and the stories are humorous. 5 stars I HIGHLY recommend these books!

This book has its origins, we are told, in the authors' experiences teaching graduate students in computer science, who needed background in certain mathematical topics. Since these topics were not covered in the basic courses that these students had taken, the authors undertook to introduce them in courses spanning several semesters, the lecture notes of which, suitably expanded, became this text. ... Here’s a pop quiz for you. When eaten in large amounts, which macronutrient raises your blood levels of saturated fats and triglycerides: protein, fat, or carbohydrate? You’re probably tempted to answer fat. But the correct answer is carbohydrate. Second question: Which of the three lowers your HDL (“good”) cholesterol? Again, the answer is carbohydrate.

In the last four decades, the percentage of overweight American adults and children has ballooned. As Albert Einstein once remarked, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over, but expecting different results.” In this time frame, the medical and nutritional establishment has told us to follow the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Guide Pyramid, skimp on calories, avoid fat, and focus on eating carbohydrate foods. Americans now consume less saturated fat than they did forty years ago but have replaced those calories—and added another 200 a day—with carbohydrates. Clearly, something is seriously wrong with the way we eat.

So has our population become thinner? Quite the contrary! Today, more than 65 percent of American adults are overweight. Likewise, the prevalence of type 2 diabetes has skyrocketed.       The latest and best science

      I have hesitated to write a review because I am one of the success stories in this book. However, in light of T. Colin Campbell's unprofessional attack on this book, I believe I must speak up to share my story and the good health that has resulted in my following the Atkins plan. I am nearly 65 years old and have struggled with weight all my life. I've been on many diets including a vegetarian one with little results in either weight loss or improved health. In fact, my health markers were getting worse, and I suffered from arthritis, dry skin and elevated tryglyceride levels. My blood pressure was borderline. Since following the plan outlined in this book, I have lost weight, my arthritis has improved substantially (particularly in my neck and shoulders) and my dry skin (which 2 dermatologists had diagnosed as rosacea) has disappeared. My tryglyceride level dropped remarkably, but more importantly my HDL (the good cholesterol) has gone up and my latest BP was 117/76. I used to wear a size 18 -- now I wear a 6 or 8. All of these results came from following the plan outlined in this book.

      What disturbs me further about T. Colin Campbell is that he has clearly put out a call to his vegan followers to come to the Amazon site and give bad reviews of this book, as he posted this nonsense on his webpage. I don't have a problem with their chosen lifestyle, but I do have a problem with the many deragatory posts that make it clear that they could not have read this book as they have no comprehension of its contents. Shame on them. Using the Amazon review system to grind their vegan axes should not be allowed.

      Contrary to their ravings, the Atkins diet recommends lots of vegetables, a conservative amount of dietary protein and good fats. All recommendations that are supported by recent science. Read Gary Taubes "Good Calories, Bad Calories" or the distinquished works of Dr. Mary Enig. T. Colin Campbell has used this review process to further his own agenda and has encouraged his minions to post here. They disparage the book as well as mouth urban legend lies about Dr. Robert Atkins (a cardiologist, BTW). Anyway, read the book and make your own conclusions. Don't be led astray by these agenda-led and untrue attacks. This 65 year old feels 20-30 years younger!!

      Buy the book, Atkins can change your life

      So fascinated by this book and the Atkins diet. However, I'm still reading this book. It has all the information you need to know about the Atkins diet, or just a low carb/high fat diet. It lists everything from the foods you can and cannot eat, all the way to actual Atkins success stories. I borrowed this book from my grandmother and liked it so much I bought one for my sister who has PCOS, which is a nasty metabolic disorder in women that affects hormones, fertility and insulin levels. Based off the many success stories with this diet and PCOS, I'm highly anticipating her results. I myself have lost 20 lbs in the last 2 months with this diet. I would highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to lose any amount of weight! The pounds are literally just melting off. Cliche, I know. The weight loss is so fast that in a matter of DAYS my stomach had shrunk (can attribute to gastric bloating or water weight loss) and my pant legs were looser on me. I can actually fit in a pair of skinny jeans I outgrew 2 years ago (Thank you baby weight. Sigh.). I used to roll my eyes when people would rant about losing weight because I thought that all diets were BS. I had heard of the Atkins diet years ago but upon mentioning it to my mother she quickly insulted the diet like many others before, and I never gave it a second thought. Then I met my husband and he introduced me to Atkins. He himself had results with a low carb diet and lost about 45 lbs. In the place of business I work at, I have a customer that frequently needs our services. After months and months of conversation he shares with me that he lost 96 lbs on the Atkins diet!! Truly amazing. If you don't buy the book, at least do your research.

      A whole new world..........!

      OK, here's the deal for me. In September I realized I needed to lose around 50 pounds. I went for the low-fat, whole grain, portion control approach; and stuck to it pretty well. In more than seven months I lost 17 pounds and was miserable and frustrated the entire time. In less than two weeks on Atkins, I have lost 8 pounds, and have never felt deprived!

      I am in a situation where I end up eating out a lot. With my other diet, this just made me feel more frustrated. But on this plan, I feel like I can stick with it anywhere. If I'm in a high end place, it's all about the meat/fish and veggies anyway. And if it's a burger joint, I just skip the bun and the fries! The sodium doesn't seem to be an issue, surprisingly.

      For breakfast I have been making 2 egg omlettes with frozen veggies and cheese. Lunch is usually tuna or chicken salad on a bunch of greens/veggies. Dinner is some kind of grilled or broiled meet with asparagus etc. (I throw on some rice pilaf etc. for the rest of the family). I went to Whole Foods today and saw the "prepared foods" section with a whole new eye! I didn't even want to stare at the pizza!

      One of the things that appealed to me most was that exercise is not a core part of this plan. I have a permanent disabling injury that prevents me from just about anything (beyond WII!). It was refreshing to not feel stigmatized for that.

      And I'm even cheating! Shoot me but I really enjoy a glass of wine when I'm done with my day, (or at least my driving). Generally an hour or so before I eat. I've kept that for my sanity the safety of my family. (It's only 4 to 5 carbs!) So I still have around 20 pounds to go. Which no longer sounds so daunting.

    We use this in college classes

    This book will give you definitions and several work examples to get you on your way. The software itself has 'help' built in, but you have to know what to ask. This book will give you that background.

    Not really worth it.

    It's an ok book. Nothing necessarily wrong with purchasing it, but I ended up using it all of 1 time in the semester. Most of the stuff you need you can just find online.

    If you are just trying to learn SolidWorks by yourself for fun or to put on your resume, this wouldn't be a bad book to get. However, if you have an instructor, I don't think it's worth it as the instructor will basically give you what the book does. So you would know enough from that to be able to Google the appropriate information needed if you were stuck during an assignment/project. There are a lot of forums available where many people have had the same issue (or very similar).

    4/5 stars for somebody trying to start off by themselves.

    Harry was always good at science at school so they told him to study medicine. Somewhere along the line he realised poetry was a more fun way of saving lives and so switched courses to study mathematics. It made sense at the time. Since then he has rocked all imaginable stages nationally and internationally, from the UK festival circuit to German opera houses. Once he finishes trying to not fail his maths degree he will be working on finding some new words to play with and some new places to play with them. Maybe you should come along and see what happens.     Harry Baker is an appealing word weaver

    I saw Harry Baker on TED and couldn't wait to read his book. The book didn't disappoint me. He is quirky, sad, gentle and lovable. I have tried reading his poetry out loud but cannot begin to match his style.

    Highly entertaining. Baker's poetry is witty and quirky.

    I stumbled across his poetry on a blog I follow that had posted one of his TED talks. From there I discovered multiple YouTube videos of him performing his poetry, and when I found out he had a book, I knew I had to get it.

    The Sunshine Kid did not disappoint. It had me laughing the whole way through and I could clearly hear his voice through the words. A wonderfully fun book of poetry to read.

    Its a fun read of contemporary poetry. The wordplay and structure he uses is so incredibly rhythmic and profound. The words flow together in a way that makes you feel close to, and even part of, the topic he uses. This collection of poems can be enjoyed by just about any person, regardless of age or background.
