great step-by-step advice

After about 10 years as an officer in the military and being told where my next job will be, I'm back in the civilian job market again. This book has been a great guide to the civilian job market. I highly recommend this book for 2 types of people...those who are just finishing school and looking for their first job, and those who are not particularly happy with their current career and want a change.

This book gives step-by-step advice for the entire process, from figuring out what you might like to do for a job to what to do after the interview is over. The detailed advice on finding jobs to apply for, writing a cover letter, calling a prospective employer, and preparing for the interview is fabulous. It has a lot of great advice along with several exercises to get you going on each step of your job search.

Do you have a hard time knowing what to say in difficult situations? Do you have a hard time figuring out how to sell your strengths to a future employer? Do you have a hard time figuring out how to reply to those difficult interview questions? This book covers all of these areas...it tells you exactly what you need to include in a cover letter, what sort of answers you need to be prepared for when you call a future employer, and how to safely answer those painful interview questions. Good info even if you think you know about job hunting.

I ended up getting a job before reading much of it. A local unemployment office displays posters by this publisher/author that have career & job hunting tips with the thinking behind the tips included. It was real smart stuff that I hadn't thought about or applied to my own efforts. Seeing those posters was enough to make me want to have the book.

Mystery and suspense

I received a copy of Bring Down The Furies in exchange for an honest review. The main character PI Quint Mitchell goes on a case for a man that goes after older, wealthy women. As a PI he feels that the victim deserves justice for a crime that was committed against them. I related to him similar to Charles Bronson in the Death Wish movies. The author keeps the suspense throughout the entire book. Bringing drama after drama with the town of Allendale caught up into a web of intrigue and mystery. The author is very visually creative in describing the town and the surroundings so that the reader can picture it on their mind. If you are a lover if mystery, drama, and suspense this would be the book for you.

Quint Mitchell is a private investigator from Jacksonville Florida hired to track down the "HeartThrob Bandit". Quints investigation leads him down 301 right to Allendale, South Carolina.

Mitchell finds far more than the HeartThrob Bandit in Allendale. The quaint town of Allendale has an arsonist on the lose. Quint Mitchell finds himself not only in the middle of the investigation but an Allendale deputy working for the Sheriff's Department. Parker Francis gives you a pile of suspects in Bring Down The Furies only intensifying the mystery. Several twist and turns , history and suspense equaled one delighted reader!

This is a great book -- full of turns and twists that will keep you guessing until the end. At the end, the main character, Quint Mitchell, is presented with a moral dilemma. You will love the way he resolves it.
